“Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
Anxiousness can often occur when unfamiliar times come about. But we are to be anxious for nothing. And the truth is that there has always been uncertainty in our world – always.
The only thing that is certain is God. He is unchanging. Oswald Chambers said it well, “To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in all our ways, we don’t not know what a day may bring forth.”
So if the unfamiliar times bring about a new level of anxiety – surrender the idea that certainty is even a thing in this life. Put your trust in Him and all His ways. Remember, He does make all things turn out for our good and His glory.
With that though…there are basic things you can do to help work through the physical effects of anxiety if you are experiencing it.
- Go for a walk
- Practice deep breathing
- Read God’s word
- Practice gratitude
- Serve others
