It’s once again that time of year when resolutions and intentions look and feel positive!
Most people start out of the gate like a racehorse but tend to ease up on their momentum partly through the race. A “race” tends to be the mentality behind most resolutions that are full of good intentions.
It is not a race!
Some resolutions may take time, such as releasing weight. It’s important to remember that the extra weight did not appear overnight and that it will take extra effort to keep steady on your exercise and eating habits. Think of keeping a steady gallop so that you do not lose interest or momentum.
A lifestyle change should be the thought process not a race to the finish line.
Add these simple steps to your daily routine and you’ll burn extra calories without a ton of extra effort.
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- Use a pedometer to track your steps daily
- Do SOMETHING active for five minutes every hour
- Park further away from your destination – walk
- Spend part of your lunch eating and the other reading, meditating, or exercising
- Eat 5-6 small, healthy meals daily
- Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water daily
Comment below and tell me if you plan to incorporate any of these ideas into your daily routine for the new year. Or if you have any other ideas you plan to implement. I would love to hear about them!
