OK – How about this for a great weight loss gimmick…’ Just look in the mirror to prevent weight gain…” Sound hokey? Well, Listen up!
In an Iowa State University study, shoppers at a supermarket were given the option to choose healthy or unhealthy food. Throughout the experiment, we strategically positioned a mirror behind the unhealthy option half of the time to ensure that shoppers could see their own reflection.
Now get this … the presence of the mirror resulted in a 32% reduction in choosing the unhealthy option. The study concluded that seeing your own reflection makes you more aware of your body, therefore your health.
So, what does that have to do with you….and how can it help YOU prevent weight gain?
Well, you too can partake in the mirror exercise at home. Just simply place a mirror on your refrigerator or cupboard. When you see your reflection…then guaranteed you will think twice before grabbing the ice cream or cookies…and hey – it might even help you avoid purchasing that item next time you go shopping as well.
