While we are to live for today (and not in the past) it’s also important to have a vision. God did not give us imaginations only for creating. All through Scripture it speaks of men and women that had visions, or that God gave visions to.
He tells us in Hebrews, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.” (chapter 11, verses 1-3)
When we have vision, we have hope.
When we have a vision, we have a direction, and a destination to make it to.
If we fail to have a vision (whether in health, home, organization, family, etc.) we have no direction, nothing to work towards. It is because of this that we fail.
Scripture also says, “And the Lord answered me: ‘Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay…’” Habakkuk 2:2-3
Our heavenly Father gave us an imagination so that he could blow our minds away by so far exceeding the feeble visions that we have, but first, we must visualize. For some that’s writing it down or creating a vision board, for some, it may be painting or drawing it out, for some, it can be teaching it, whatever it may be that helps you make your vision tangible, do it!
