Now that we are experiencing hot summer days, it’s important to factor in the weather with your outdoor activity.
You might consider getting your walk, run, skate or bike activity done in the morning or evening hours…rather than the heat of the day.
Also consider hydration, especially if you choose to workout during the day. You’ll need to increase your water and electrolyte intake as you’ll be sweating a lot more.
This means you’ll need to plan accordingly. Take water bottles with you on your activity to hydrate along the way – not just after you’ve completed your exercise.
When your body is dehydrated and not regulating heat properly – this can cause you to become more tired during exercise and limit your ability to perform at optimal levels. Plus, without proper water intake – your mental function weakens as well.
So plan ahead and hydrate well.
