Everyone gets in a “rut” when it comes to fitness and excersice from time to time. The best thing to do is mix up your routine and spice things up a bit. How? By learning something new! It’s good for your body so that you use different muscle groups in different ways, it’s good for your mind, and certainly good for your spirit!
Studies prove that when people venture out to learn new things their level of confidence is greatly enhanced. Changes in activity with our body can shape our feelings, thoughts, and body chemistry. This is important for overall well-being. When we get in a rut, so does our mind. If our mind is in a rut then our body and spirit follow. If you stay in a stagnant routine for a long period of time, you’re not functioning at your highest level. It’s ALWAYS great to learn something new.
New activity is an opportunity for you to learn more about yourself. You may not enjoy every new thing you set out to do, but as a good friend of mine once told me…”Interesting people do interesting things!” She’s right.
So, this week I encourage you to get out and take a class at a local dance studio, community center, or parks and recreation. Go ahead…spice up your routine and have a little fun!
