My husband and I were just in Florida a few days ago taking a much-needed break from the bitter cold of Minnesota. I feel blessed that I can work from any location; otherwise, this native Texan might just go bonkers! 🙂
On the last day, soon after sunrise, I decided to visit the ocean one more time. At least, that was my original plan. Have you ever planned your day with great intention and something stops you in your tracks causing you to do something completely different? Well, that’s literally what happened to me. As I was running in the sand, I suddenly had to stop. I was in PAIN! I’ve had a nagging hip flexor issue for the last several months and I’ve been pushing through most of my daily activities and workouts. But, not this time. The pain was too intense. I had to stop and walk.
The last thing I wanted to do was walk. I was frustrated, so I started talking to God about it. I heard in my spirit that God wanted me to STOP walking – so I did. The next thing I heard was for me to take off my shoes and socks and come into the tide. So I LISTENED and I WENT.
As I stood there looking out over the massiveness of the ocean God spoke to me in such a loving way. My feet firmly rooted in the sand, each wave washed over them, starting from my feet, then ankles, and up to my calves. I closed my eyes and allowed the warmth of the sun to beat down on my face. I could feel the slight pull of each wave wanting to bring me back into the ocean with it. When I opened my eyes and saw the beauty and power of the ocean, I was reminded of God’s never-ending love for us. Wave after wave God draws us closer to Him. With each wave of love, grace, mercy, and healing power…..I wept – in gratitude!
How often do you STOP, LISTEN, and GO?
Is it after you’re in pain physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially, or relationally? God loves His people and wants us to come to Him for all things and He doesn’t mind healing His people. But I believe He would be pleased if we came to Him prior to the place of pain.
May you take the time today and every day to slow down. Enjoy the greatness of God’s love and involvement in your daily journey.
“Pay attention to this, Job. Stop and consider the wonderful miracles of God!” ~Job 37:14

Did your pain go away?
Being on the sand and in the ocean barefoot is a ” grounding” experience that balances out negative ions in our bodies and is so good for us.
I hope it helped you.
Blessings to you

Hi Cindy…yes, the sand is great for us! God knows! My hip feels a bit better, but it’s still on the mend. I know it helped some…for sure! Thanks for asking and blessings back!
Thank you, Wendie. I find it encouraging when the Lord prompts me to speak a word, and then someone tells me that they think it was for them. Sometimes it’s for more than one person. Let me encourage you that the Lord spoke to me through the words He gave you.
What a blessing…God is SOOO good! Thank you for sharing – you just made my day! May we all take time to rest in Him and hear His voice.
Good to reread today & be reminded…: )
Hi Phyllis….I’m so glad it was a good “reread” today. Thanks for stopping by and making a comment. Bless you.
